Our engineering apprenticeship scheme is a four year program that focuses on the skills required in the utility and bio gas sectors.
EMS has a strong working relationship with Newcastle College and Staffordshire University, to ensure our apprentices get the best training out of our apprenticeship schemes. On completion of the four year apprenticeship the qualifications gained will be a Modern apprenticeship certificate in engineering, BTEC and an NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering. We also offer opportunities for those wishing to go further and they can also attain HNC and HND qualifications in engineering.
"My apprenticeship at EMS was one of the best career decisions I have made. I started at EMS when I was 18, fresh from college. It gave me the opportunity to work and learn at the same time. EMS are really supportive, even when I wanted to explore different roles within the company I was encouraged to excel in these roles.
Now at the age of 25, I have moved into the projects office. It is a challenging, rewarding role that has the perfect balance of office and site based work, which allows me to use the full range of my engineering skills."
